Summary of Position :
A Completions Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient completion of oil and gas wells using in-depth knowledge of completions design and theory. Success in this position involves coordination between a multitude of internal and external departments to thoroughly plan and execute high value completions projects.
Primary Job Responsibilities : Maintain daily operational efficiency and safety through coordination with field personnel Ensure all field costs are tracked and recorded appropriately to verify on budget performance Negotiates and finalizes a wide variety of pricing agreements Develop and continually improve the completions designs for all wells by leveraging data and inputs from subsurface, drilling, regulatory and reservoir departments Utilize strong reservoir and production skills to conduct well performance reviews to provide recommendations for new completions projects Write detailed procedures for all completions activities including but not limited to toe prep, hydraulic stimulation, drillouts, wireline plug and perf, and fishing operations. Provide advanced analysis and testing plans for new completions technologies and techniques Responsible for maintaining all project documentation within Wellview and other databases. Successfully manages a multitude of on-going activities in the office and field Builds accurate project AFEs for upcoming completions jobs Expert analysis of completions data, including pressures, flow rates, and production data to evaluate well performance, identify potential issues, and recommend corrective actions Provide relief for team leadership during their absence Must be inspired to ensure a safe, effective operation with all internal and external staff and able to motivate people to perform to their highest level Undergo continuing education classes relating to oil and gas as a means of advancing current knowledge base and keeping up with industry changes Participation in Industry Organizations is encouraged Other Duties as Assigned Technical Skills In-depth knowledge of the rules and regulations of the RRC and NMOCD Excellent negotiation skills In-depth experience with all aspects of completions operations including pressure pumping, wireline, coil tubing, and workover rigs Expert knowledge in all aspects of completions design including hydraulic fracture theory, stage design architecture, chemical selection, pressure pumping diagnostics, and frac modeling Advanced skills in reservoir and production engineering to be used in analysis of completions techniques Strong writer of agreements, reports, summaries, and correspondence Proven facilitation skills for individuals/groups to bring divergent opinions into focus on specific technical and project management issues Behavioral Skills Strong planning and judgment skills to enable independent evaluation, selection, interpretation, organization, execution and coordination of assignments. Strong ability to work with individuals within and outside of the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding matters pertaining to the project/assignment Advanced interpersonal, written, and analytical skills, combined with strong organizational, problem-solving, and consultative abilities, and a thoughtful approach to recordkeeping Ability to build relationships with land, drilling and production operations staff Must be willing to participate in a team environment Willingness to be fully responsible and accountable for the timely performance of all specified job duties Education & Experience : Bachelor's degree in petroleum, mechanical, or civil engineering related field Minimum 8 years of experience in completions operations in a fast-paced, multi-demand operation with the ability to multi-task while ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met Travel & Additional Requirements : Location: Work is performed at a CIVI location Monday through Thursday with the option of working remotely on Fridays. Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9-hour workdays Monday through Thursday and 4-hour workdays on Friday, as business needs allow and with manager approval. Base Pay Range: $170,000 - $192,500
