Job Summary:
As a Production Engineer II, the applicant will identify line priorities and address issues with the goal of meeting production targets of cylindrical batteries. This role requires skilled data analysis and the ability to communicate with multiple teams and operators to develop and implement solutions.
Report To: Production Sr. Manager.
Responsibilities:
Perform engineering activities to achieve a goal of main Production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Main KPIs: Q (Quality), C (Cost), D (Delivery).
Report QCD status and improvement plan regularly (weekly / monthly).
Address quality reports and events promptly to minimize possible impacts.
Track production record, identify highest fallout, and report/address causes.
(Send out quality alerts and report to team leader, finish with nonconformance (NCR) report).
Develop short/mid/long-term improvement projects to address recurring quality issues.
Participate in Six Sigma Green Belt initiative: Spearhead a long-term cost-saving project, track data, take courses, present reports.
Communicate with team and other departments to review activities.
Collaborate with other team members and departments to solve problems.
Identify line priorities, problems (down time, equipment issues), and risk range.

Communicate with local and international vendors and purchasing department to facilitate equipment repairs and replacements.
Manages and monitors key production indicators including OEE, yield, BM, and PD to ensure stable operations. Investigates issues, supports improvement initiatives, and contributes to preventive actions.
Update standard documents after minor or critical QCD issues for preventing recurrence.
All of improvement plans (Lessons Learned) have to be recorded in standard documents.
(e.g. Control plan, Work Standard, Breakdown Maintenance (BM)/Process Down (PD)/Preventive Maintenance (PM) Guide, Operating Manual, etc.).
Teach and mentor other engineers, delegating tasks when appropriate.
(Train production team members on new equipment or procedures).
Maintain cleanliness at worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards.
5S: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
3R: Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container.
Ensure work is completed in a safe manner and maintain a safe work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years in engineering experience in production/plant environment.
Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering or related field required.
Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a period of up to 12 hours.
Safety glasses.
Steel-toed shoes.
Must be able to perform the following over the course of up to 12 hours per day.
Lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds on occasion.
Stoop, twist, bend.
Reach overhead.
Sit and/or stand for lengthy periods.
Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite.
Production processes.
Data analysis and processing.
Six Sigma certification * Preferred but not required.
DOE (Design of experiments) * Preferred but not required.
CAD (Computer-aided design) and coding * Preferred but not required.
