Program Overview:
Lockheed Martin Space is proud to support NOAA’s Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) satellite program, a next-generation constellation designed to advance weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and environmental observation. As part of this critical initiative, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented ElectroMechanical Engineer to provide packaging design support for the EPS and C&DH subsystems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and release 3D models and 2D drawings, including ICDs, detailed parts, and complex assemblies, using Creo and EPDM while adhering to Lockheed Martin command media, program-specific requirements, and electronics packaging design best practices.
• Verify and incorporate feedback from internal drafting checks and peer reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and present engineering artifacts and documentation for Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR).
• Maintain detailed weekly records of design progress and technical accomplishments.
• Generate supporting engineering documentation including Analysis Memos (e.g., venting studies, mass properties), Bill of Materials (BOMs), Drawing Notes, Design Trade Studies, and Tolerance Analyses.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in Creo and experience using EPDM (or equivalent PLM systems).
• Strong understanding of electro-mechanical packaging, materials, and thermal/mechanical constraints in spacecraft environments.
• Experience supporting PDR/CDR processes and generating associated engineering deliverables.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working on spaceflight hardware development.
• Familiarity with Lockheed Martin design standards and command media.
• Prior experience supporting the design of EPS or C&DH subsystems on aerospace programs.
