Electrical Field Engineer Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Field Engineer to join our team in New Orleans. As an Electrical Field Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and servicing of advanced marine propulsion systems for our clients. You will work closely with customers, engineers, and technicians to ensure seamless project execution and deliver exceptional results. Electrical Field Engineer Responsibilities Lead on-site commissioning and startup of propulsion systems, including jet drives, thrusters, and gear boxes Configure and test electrical systems, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), transformers, and control panels Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance issues both in-shop and at customer sites Perform system calibrations, parameter adjustments, and sea trials Serve as a technical point of contact for customers during installations and service calls Deliver detailed technical reports and commissioning documentation Assist with wiring schematics, component layouts, and control configurations Travel regularly to customer sites, shipyards, and vessels—including occasional offshore or international travel Provide occasional after-hours or emergency support as needed
Electrical Field Engineer Position Requirements 3–15 years of experience in marine systems, electrical engineering, or field service roles Direct experience with propulsion systems Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, VFDs, control circuits, and PLC interfaces Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and system specs Excellent communication and customer service skills
