Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
Design and develop new and innovative products under direction of team lead
Troubleshoot prototypes and early-stage production
Create engineering documentation for electrical equipment and sub-assemblies, including schematics, wire diagrams, and drawings
Design, simulate, and test complex analog, digital and mixed-signal systems
Perform design activities including interface cabling, system integration, and power system architecture
Research, select, and evaluate parts and materials used in prototyping and production
Create documentation including process specifications, test procedures, operation manuals, technical literature, and graphic and pictorial data
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read, interpret, and create schematics, diagrams, and engineering drawings
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Experience with wire selection and wiring design, both point-to-point and harness
Experience with common digital communication interfaces (USB, SPI, I2C)
Hands-on electronics prototyping experience, including soldering and rework
Practical experience analyzing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems
Ability to prepare technical documentation, test plans, work instructions, and manuals
Proficiency with hardware testing instruments including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, hi-pot testers, and multimeters
Understanding of how to design for manufacturability, reliability, and low cost
Must be authorized to work in the US
Preferred Qualifications
Embedded Linux OS experience
Experience implementing firmware and software such as C, Python, and Linux OS
Familiarity with PID controllers, microprocessors, and microcontrollers
Experience with UL standards, specifically UL 508, 61010-1, 603335-1
CE compliance and testing
Project management and planning
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering and 2-7 years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must also be adept with hand tools, power tools, and technical and measuring equipment.
Computer Skills
Proficient with typical computer operating systems, word processing, and spreadsheet programs; proficient with circuit layout and analysis (CAD) software
Language Skills
Ability to write professional correspondence and effectively communicate information in one-on-one and group situations to customers and coworkers
Reasoning Ability
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to assimilate information from diverse sources to form a complete situational picture and develop a plan of action to accomplish the task. Must be able to deal with problems involving several variables in dynamic situations.
