_*Your Role*_
Cordogan Clark is looking to hire an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in our St. Louis, MO office. The Electrician will collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals to ensure high-quality electrical design, system integration, and field coordination across all phases of the project lifecycle. This role involves both design support and field troubleshooting. This position will be counted on to mentor and nurture the professional development of staff, as well as work on a variety of project types firmwide. A PE license is preferred but not required.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing integration with architectural, structural, and mechanical groups and will work on multiple projects concurrently and coordinate work in progress between firm offices, as well as outside consultants. The successful candidate must have the ability to multi-task and possess excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include estimating project costs and project budgets; building system / code analysis and feasibility studies; the preparation of electrical system specifications; reviewing shop drawings and product submittals; attending project meetings; and job site inspections & coordinating field reports. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of diverse design work for electrical building systems including indoor/outdoor lighting, power distribution and device selections, fire alarm, tele/data & video, generator/ups/tvss and software analysis. A thorough knowledge and working understanding of all electrical system design in accordance with applicable design methods, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements is required.
_*Specifics of Your Role*_
* Interpret electrical design plans and specifications for commercial and institutional building projects.
* Collaborate with architectural and MEP teams on electrical system layouts.
* Review, troubleshoot, and inspect installations to ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
* Provide expert-level field support and technical guidance
* Prepare accurate documentation and assist with permitting and inspection processes.
* Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to design development
* Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company practices
* Work closely with the project team to execute project plans and to provide direct supervision of the team's design and technical delivery.
* Provide mentorship to junior staff.
_*Required Qualifications*_
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
* Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in commercial electrical systems.
* Strong understanding of the NEC and local building codes.
* Experience working in design-build or architecture firm environments preferred.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software is a plus.
* PE License in Electrical Engineering preferred but not required.
* Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master) preferred.
