Job Summary
Location: Detroit, MI
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing and managing preventative maintenance efforts for electrical systems throughout the company's facilities.
Key Accountabilities
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing a comprehensive program in accordance with prudent industrial practices to ensure the safe, continuous, and reliable operation of all electrical infrastructure including transformers, switchgear, feeders, bus duct, motors, and other ancillary equipment
The Electrical Engineer will work closely with manufacturing and operations to identify, evaluate, and prioritize maintenance efforts
The Electrical Engineer works closely with the Utility Services Manager, who is the lead Company position at the client site, to ensure that energy goals are met, and client satisfaction is achieved
This position will report to an assigned client's manufacturing facilities for day-to-day work, and occasionally visit other company locations in a consulting role to provide expertise for due diligence and as needed for emergency responses
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
A minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on large industrial or utility distribution systems including protective relaying
Other Qualifications
Preferred:
Professional Engineer certification is desired
Ability to function within a matrix organization in which functional and business leaders have equal authority within the organization and employees report to both a functional leader and a business leader
Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with both a functional and a business leader, who collaborates on employee issues and decisions (including performance management, compensation, and development)

The employee performs job duties primarily in a work from home capacity and periodically from a climate-controlled office environment, with a moderate noise level. However, on an occasional basis the employee may be required to travel to project sites where noise levels and environmental conditions may vary.
