We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of cutting-edge electrical systems and automation solutions. Position Summary: As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design and implementation of advanced electrical systems and automation solutions. Your expertise will drive our projects' success, from concept to production, as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs and exceed their expectations.
Responsibilities: Lead the design, layout, and specification of complex electrical systems, control panels, and automation solutions for industrial applications and custom projects. Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and bills of materials using advanced CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and maintain clear design documentation. Oversee and perform system simulations, modeling, and analysis to validate and optimize performance, safety, and efficiency. Define and implement control system architectures, including PLCs, HMIs, networking, and integration with robotics and OEM machinery. Support and guide internal build teams and subcontractors to ensure accurate fabrication and integration of designs, providing oversight during assembly and commissioning phases. Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and applications engineering teams to deliver cohesive, modular solutions that meet customer specifications and project budgets. Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and develop design revisions or improvements to resolve field or integration challenges. Contribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of design processes, libraries, and best practices to enhance project repeatability and efficiency. Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, and applicable electrical codes (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL508A) to ensure compliance and innovation. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to support team development and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience in industrial automation and control system design. Proficiency in creating comprehensive electrical drawing packages using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent. Strong knowledge of industrial enclosures, circuits for robot cells, OEM machines, and integrated control systems. Familiarity with applicable codes and standards for electrical engineering and power distribution. Experience designing and managing custom CAD blocks, templates, scripts, and libraries. Proficiency with simulation and modeling tools to optimize system performance. Proven problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges. Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-disciplinary teamwork. Strong project management abilities to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Creative thinking and innovative problem-solving approaches. Adaptability to evolving project requirements and a dynamic work environment.
