REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a closely related field, with 10+ years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related field and 8+ years of experience.
Must possess the technical background and skills to perform in all phases of electrical/electronic circuit design, development, testing and documentation. Design and develop innovative technical hardware solutions for new products in the areas of High-gain/Low-noise Analog processing, from the detector to the Client, or High-Speed Digital design with a good understanding of clock boundaries conditions and asynchronous data collection. Development of Analog Data Acquisition hardware using op-amps, active filters and high resolution ADCs. Development of Digital Data Acquisition hardware including FPGA based Finite State Machines, interfacing to high-speed mixed signal ASICs and Signal Integrity techniques. Experience with MCU system design, including both hardware design and embedded software design. Experience with various FPGA families, FPGA design suites and simulation tools, including (but not limited to) Xilinx and Lattice. Proficient experience with Altium Designer Schematic Capture and PCB Layout design suite.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to engage in hands-on work while developing a deep understanding of aviation security products. The role is highly impactful because the products being developed make travel and trade safer, healthier and more efficient on a global level. Working in a diverse and collaborative R&D environment, this position will be responsible for electrical/electronic design in support of new products and to maintain and enhance our extensive line of current security detection products. Design work will include system specification, component selections, schematic and PCB design, engineering reviews, documentation and document control practices.
Primary Responsibilities: Work closely with a cross-functional team to deliver best-in-class chemical detectors using Ion Mobility Spectrometry. Perform fundamental engineering duties in electrical/electronic design efforts including system development, integration and testing for a variety of chemical trace detection products. Create design specification documents including system specifications, schematics and PCB designs. Convert conceptual designs into complete product designs, including the appropriate connectors, cables and wiring to meet the system design criteria. Develop test procedures and test fixtures to support design validation and production testing. Collaborate with a global team including CAD/PCB designers and technicians on the design, development and release of new products to production. Collaborate on best practices and promote adoption across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of product development cycle and release to production of new products. Hands-on experience designing, prototyping, debugging and testing of digital/analog electronics. Experience with high-voltage (8kV) board design and interfacing with digital control systems. Knowledge of Ion Mobility Spectrometry (A PLUS).
