Our client is seeking an experienced full-time Electrical Design Engineer to join their power and infrastructure department in Camden County, NJ. YOUR DAY AS AN ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you start your day diving into the design of grid-connected power generation systems, creating detailed single-line diagrams, and preparing interconnection applications. You collaborate closely with the Director of Electrical Engineering while developing equipment specs, reviewing technical submittals, and coordinating with other engineering teams. Throughout the day, you perform system studies-load flow, arc flash, relay coordination, and more-and lay out electrical equipment, routing conduit and cable systems with precision. You also craft protection and control diagrams, review submittals and shop drawings, and provide construction support both from the office and in the field. Whether you're responding to contractor questions or conducting a site survey, you're constantly applying your expertise to ensure high-quality, efficient, and safe electrical solutions.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Engineering
  • 5-10 years professional experience in the US (preferably in the Tri-State area) with proven progression in engineering, particularly in power, distributed generation, or related field
  • Registered and active Professional Engineering license
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
  • Experience in executing multi-discipline projects utilizing AutoCad or Revit programs
  • Experience with grid interconnection for engines, turbines, solar, and battery storage
  • Knowledge of HV/MV substation and switchgear design for grid connection
  • Proficiency in electrical modeling software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or HOMER)
  • Understanding of electrical studies: load flow, short circuit, arc flash, relay coordination, etc.
  • Ability to relay and meter configuration/programming along with multidisciplinary project management and coordination experience
  • Strong time management and adaptability to deadlines
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
  • Fluent in English (read, write, speak, understand)
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without the need for sponsorship

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time engineering role works onsite 5 days a week.
