Our client is seeking a hands-on, technically proficient Ecoat Paint Line Project & Operations Manager to lead the end-to-end implementation, operation, and maintenance of a new Ecoat paint line within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a major equipment installation, with the chance to directly shape ongoing production and maintenance processes. From overseeing the installation phase to ensuring long-term operational excellence, you'll play a key leadership role in ensuring paint process performance meets rigorous automotive industry standards. Ideal candidates will bring a solid foundation in paint technology, experience managing complex technical projects, and a passion for continuous improvement in high-performance manufacturing settings. This is a role where engineering insight meets practical floor execution.
Responsibilities: Lead the installation and commissioning of a new Ecoat paint line, from initial planning to operational readiness.
Operate and maintain production equipment associated with the Ecoat paint line post-installation.
Direct and monitor project execution including cost tracking, schedule adherence, and milestone management.
Develop and maintain preventative maintenance (PM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) plans.
Generate technical documentation and performance descriptions for newly installed equipment.
Analyze process data to identify issues and implement effective solutions using continuous improvement methodologies.
Support day-to-day production activities, troubleshooting technical problems on the floor.
Revise and document manufacturing processes to meet objectives for cost, quality, labor, safety, and scrap reduction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tooling, prototypes, and production strategies based on customer requirements.
Promote and enforce safety protocols, identifying and correcting unsafe conditions.
Support and execute any additional assignments from direct leadership.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing environments.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Ecoat/Paint Technology processes.
Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams or direct reports (5+ years).
Strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, iAuditor) - intermediate to advanced proficiency.
Preferences: Deep knowledge of cataphoretic paint processes and surface chemistry.
Experience driving and managing chemical production systems.
Familiarity with automotive corrosion protection standards and quality requirements.
Demonstrated ability to lead both large-scale installations and ongoing production improvements.
Root cause analysis and Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.
