·Advanced Dimensional Engineering problem solving strategies for Chassis and Body-in-White components.
·Recommend solutions to complex issues.
·Product feasibility for dimensional control utilizing GD&T markups, DVA simulation analysis, fixture design review/acceptance, resolve fixture and assembly build issues, etc.
·Analyze and organize data from multiple sources into reports that identify top issues, potential root causes and resolutions/corrective actions.
·Attend customer product design and structure meetings.
·Remain engaged, proactive and accountable for challenges and success of project/program.
·Well organized with meticulous attention to data-driven details.
·Act as an internal resource for Sales, Operations and other departments.
·Document CMM roadmaps, QDM templates, GD&T Drawings, etc.
·Check fixture design and builds to meet program timing and product print/CAD model requirements.
·Resolve fixture and assembly build issues, fixture gage R&R and fixture delivery to support die tryout timing.
·Develops prototype and production measurement plans.
·Guide and/or develop GD&T and measurement points for components and assemblies.
·Guides Gage Repeatability (GR) and Reproducibility (GR&R) evaluations.
·Guides detail and assembly data reviews with evaluation.
·Verifies technical capabilities and supplier capacity for sourcing check fixtures.
·Interface with Operations, Program Management, Sales, Supply Chain/Purchasing, etc.
This full-time salary-exempt role is a part of our corporate engineering team and reports to the Director of Dimensional Engineering.
Required experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent DE automotive experience.
5+ years DE experience in the automotive industry with Chassis components.
Demonstrate advance knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Advance Metrology measurement techniques, Variation Simulation Analysis (DVA), drafting/drawing techniques, dies and tooling standards, etc.
Demonstrate effective teamwork within a fast-pace multi-disciplinary automotive environment.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Advanced proficiency with MS Office, TeamCenter Visualization, SpinFire and Visio. CATIA, AutoCAD, Kubotech, KeyCreator, a plus.
