CSCI Consulting is looking for a mission-focused DevSecOps Engineer to support the secure automation, deployment, and monitoring of enterprise applications in a federal environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and containerized deployments-along with a strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and DoD compliance requirements.
This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions in both cloud and on-premises environments while enabling rapid and reliable application delivery.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Git, and Bitbucket
Automate infrastructure provisioning using configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or similar
Support secure software builds, testing, deployment, and monitoring across development, staging, and production environments
Integrate security scanning tools (e.g., Fortify, SonarQube, ACAS) into pipelines to enable continuous compliance
Manage and secure Linux/Windows server environments and support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
Monitor and optimize performance across network infrastructure, databases, and hybrid cloud platforms
Support validation testing (SIT, GAT) and maintain stable test environments
Contribute to Agile planning and DevSecOps practices within SAFe-aligned teams
Assist in documentation, backlog grooming, and technical support for RMF and cybersecurity audits
Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
4+ years of experience in DevSecOps, infrastructure automation, or secure software delivery
Active DoD Secret clearance
Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems
Experience with CI/CD and configuration management tools: Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, or Ansible
Proficiency in Git, Bitbucket, SVN, or CVS
Hands-on experience with networking, databases, data center operations, and security protocols
Familiarity with AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or other major cloud platforms
Skilled in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, Java, SQL, PHP, or C++
Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional presence
Preferred Skills Experience working in DoD or secure federal IT environments
Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and DoD compliance
Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments and containerized deployment pipelines
Knowledge of Agile methodologies, especially SAFe, and participation in sprints or PI planning
Experience maintaining and securing test environments (SIT, GAT, pre-prod)
Exposure to DevSecOps tools and practices within classified or highly regulated environments
Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
Past experience working with a federal agency
Department of Defense experience is a plus!
