CTG is seeking to fill a DevOps Engineer opening for our client in Columbia, MD.
Location: Columbia, MD
Duration: Permanent Placement
Duties:
Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS
Support development and deployment of non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure for on-premise and portable equipment
Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services
Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS
Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure
Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, resolving issues as necessary
Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance
Stay current with new technologies and industry trends to enhance infrastructure capabilities
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills:
Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills
Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet
Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and infrastructure deployment/management
Application and OS deployment, scaling, and management expertise
Programming proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go
Familiarity with Git and development toolchains
Excellent problem-solving abilities and complex issue troubleshooting skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Understanding of AGILE methodologies and standard software development tools
Must hold DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification (e.g., Security+)
Ability to work in a hybrid environment (1–2 days onsite per week, flexible as needed)
Experience:
Current Secret level U.S. Government Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR
3 years relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; OR
High School Diploma/equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
Preferred: Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, Presto, etc.
Preferred: Experience with EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience as outlined above)
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $226,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
