CTG is seeking to fill a DevOps Engineer opening for our client in Columbia, MD.

Location: Columbia, MD
Duration: Permanent Placement

Duties:

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS

• Support development and deployment of non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure for on-premise and portable equipment

• Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services

• Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS

• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure

• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, resolving issues as necessary

• Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance

• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends to enhance infrastructure capabilities

• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills:

• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills

• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet

• Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and infrastructure deployment/management

• Application and OS deployment, scaling, and management expertise

• Programming proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go

• Familiarity with Git and development toolchains

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and complex issue troubleshooting skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Understanding of AGILE methodologies and standard software development tools

• Must hold DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification (e.g., Security+)

• Ability to work in a hybrid environment (1–2 days onsite per week, flexible as needed)

Experience:

• Current Secret level U.S. Government Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required)

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR

• 3 years relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; OR

• High School Diploma/equivalent and 9 years relevant experience

• Preferred: Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, Presto, etc.

• Preferred: Experience with EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience as outlined above)

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $156,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
