DevOps Engineer Kubernetes Specialist

Hamilton Telecommunications isseeking an Infrastructure-focused DevOps Engineer with strong Kubernetes and networking experience to help design, automate, and maintain reliable and scalable platforms. This role bridges traditional WAN/system responsibilities with modern DevOps practices, enabling faster delivery of services while ensuring high availability, performance, and security across environments. This is a remote-based position based in Nebraska.
Key responsibilities include: CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD. Containerization & Orchestration: Implement and monitor containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for scalable deployments. Monitoring & Incident Response: Set up and manage monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix ) to ensure high availability and quickly resolve production issues. Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, perform vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Collaboration: Work closely with developers and IT teams to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and troubleshoot deployment or infrastructure issues. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, automate manual tasks, and stay current with emerging DevOps technologies and best practices. Technical Support: Provide Level 2 technical support for deployment and production issues. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred, but not required if experience is strong). Experience in scripting and automation (vSphere, ESXi, etc.) Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl). Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD). Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git). Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Understanding of infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Possess a valid drivers license. Ability and willingness to travel independently.
