Job Description:
The Body Closures - Design and Release Engineer should have minimum 6 to 10 years of working experience and the previous experience of Auto OEM/Tier1 in component and system management must be proven. Especially VW release experience (KVS system) with 3D Experience or Catia V5 skills Activities includes the initial design, concept creation and construction of components, parts and systems in area of development according to customer specifications, taking into account the technical and legal requirements
Independent coordination of the Closure and Structure panels in coordination with all development partners and suppliers throughout the entire development process from design to series production support.
Responsible for creating design specifications for design and system suppliers and for monitoring the progress of work.
Carrying out design reviews with internal and external customers and presenting the design progress.
Review design and drawing data for compliance with all requirements such as quality and cost specifications, manufacturing compliance and serviceability.
Guidance and implementation of data management in the customer-specific PLM systems.
Independently handle the design activities for Sheet metal parts to industrialization and releases it for series production.
Design release activities of BIW and Closure systems and its components.
Closely work with Body Closures Product Engineering team and other cross functional team.
To perform DMU activities inside the relevant system.
Requirements:
Required Skills/Experience: Graduated in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
Very good skills in 3D Experience / Catia V5 CAD Modeling, surfacing & 3D CAD Annotation.
Excellent experience including Inner and Outer panels, reinforcement panels and hinge brackets.
Very good knowledge of stamping, tooling, joint technologies especially spot welding, materials, stack up FMEA.
Capable of creating Hood / fender outer panel from Class A surface.
Should be aware of Top and Side impact regulations related to BIW / Closure Systems
Very good experience for understanding and implementing DFx (Mfg., Assembly & Serviceability) requirements within the project scope.
Knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Good interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally.
Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design
