Design Engineer Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Design Engineer for a company based in Katy, Texas. Primarily, responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance production methods, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.   Pay Rate $80,000.00 per year   Schedule and Hours Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm    Design Engineer   Duties and Responsibilities • Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings of pump components and systems. • Develop innovative pump designs that meet performance specifications, including flow rate, pressure, and efficiency. • Standardize product offerings to increase the usage of common parts. • Design pump skids. • Convert metric drawings to imperial to suit the local US market. • Evaluate and select appropriate materials for pump components or skids based on performance, durability, and cost considerations. • Create material specifications and collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of quality materials for production. • Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analyses to optimize pump manufacturing processes. • Collaborate with assembly teams to develop efficient production methods while maintaining product quality and consistency. • Create product build of materials and routing for production. • Collaborate with quality control teams to develop and implement quality assurance protocols for pump assembly. • Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure pumps meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. • Maintain detailed documentation of pump designs, specifications, and test results. • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems throughout the design and manufacturing processes. • Participate in managing engineered-to-order projects. • Assist with time management and delivery of engineered products in a timely manner. • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production managers, manufacturing engineers, and sales teams, to ensure alignment with project goals • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.   Design Engineer   Qualifications and Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.   • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and drafting. • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and mechanical principles. • Experience with pump design and development, preferably in industrial or food applications. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Effective communication and collaboration skills. • Strong mechanical aptitude.   Job Type Full-time, Direct Hire   Benefits • Weekly Pay  • 401(k) retirement plan  • Medical, dental, vision, short-term disability and life insurance  • 5 paid Vacation Days after 1 year of continuous service (paid as a service bonus)  • 6 paid Holidays after 1500 continuous hours of service within a calendar year    Interested in this job?
