"Database Management SQL Proficiency: Strong command of SQL for querying, managing, and optimizing databases. Database Platforms: Experience with systems like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). Backup & Recovery: Implementing and managing backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and high availability. Performance Tuning: Monitoring and optimizing database performance (indexes, queries, caching). Data Security Access Control: Implementing role-based access control (RBAC), least privilege principles, and user authentication. Encryption: Knowledge of data encryption at rest and in transit (e.g., TDE, SSL/TLS). Vulnerability Management: Identifying and patching database vulnerabilities, monitoring for threats. Compliance: Familiarity with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX) and how they apply to database systems. Security Engineering Security Architecture: Designing secure database environments, including network segmentation and firewalls. Incident Response: Investigating and responding to security breaches or suspicious activity. Audit & Monitoring: Setting up logging, auditing, and anomaly detection tools (e.g., SIEM systems). Identity & Access Management (IAM): Integrating with enterprise IAM systems like Active Directory or Azure AD. Scripting & Automation Scripting Languages: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automating tasks and security checks. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with tools like Terraform or Ansible for managing database infrastructure securely. Soft Skills Problem Solving: Analytical thinking to troubleshoot complex issues. Communication: Explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
