BAE Systems is seeking a Data Engineers to support our government customer. The selected applicants will join the team as we seek to deliver world-class capabilities for our client and their associated contractors, driving productivity and innovation. This teamworks with real-time data and create tools using cutting-edge visualization, development, and analytic technologies.
Our staff provides full product lifecycle support for a large suite of multiplatform tools, environments, and microservices. These services support every aspect of the intelligence lifecycle including collection management, data aggregation, transformation, and enrichment, knowledge management, object-based production, and production creation and dissemination.
We utilize best practices in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, software engineering, data analytics, systems administration, and cybersecurity. Our team will lead in providing the next generation of capabilities planning and continuous integration of new and emerging technologies.
This position will include the following duties and responsibilities:
As a Data Engineer/Integrator, your role entails collaborating closely with a team of developers to fulfill data integration requirements. This involves writing and maintaining code using an Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) platform to ensure data is transformed into suitable formats as defined by IC ITE initiatives. You will interface with external teams and systems, employing various protocols including HTML and SFTP to collect data efficiently. Additionally, your responsibilities include enhancing the ETL platform by adding features aimed at shortening timelines for future data integration efforts. Beyond coding tasks, you'll develop and maintain software, ensuring seamless integration into a fully functional system. Collaboration with external teams will be necessary to validate data ingest processes. Finally, you'll be responsible for providing comprehensive documentation covering system architecture, development, and any enhancements made throughout the process.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education:
5 years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
3 years of professional experience with a Master's degree or equivalent
10 years of professional experience
Additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Required Credentials:
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph
Active Security Certification or DoD 8140/8570 compliant IAT Level II certification
Required Experience:
Specialization using the Databricks platform for building, deploying, and managing data and AI solutions
Experience building ETL pipelines, managing data pipelines, and working with large datasets using tools like Spark, Python, and SQL
Experience with technologies like Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, and Databricks Workflows
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience collaborating with data scientists.
Familiarity with Advana.
Strong Python programming skills
Solid SQL knowledge for querying and data manipulation
Cloud platform experience, such as AWS, Azure, etc
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
