In this role, youll develop scalable pipelines, integrate data from diverse sources, and ensure data quality, compliance, and security across all systems. This is a highly collaborative position, working closely with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to turn raw data into trusted, actionable information. Key Responsibilities: Build Scalable Pipelines: Design and maintain efficient ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of healthcare data. Data Integration: Consolidate data from internal platforms, third-party systems, and external APIs with a focus on consistency and reliability. Data Infrastructure: Develop and manage data lakes, warehouses, and modeling layers that support analytics and reporting. Database Management: Optimize performance of SQL/NoSQL databases and support schema design and query tuning. Automation & Monitoring: Implement robust monitoring and alerting to ensure data workflows run reliably; troubleshoot pipeline failures as needed. Data Governance: Uphold data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, analytics, and operations teams to define data requirements and deliver solutions. Documentation: Create and maintain thorough documentation for data pipelines, schemas, and systems architecture. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 35 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role. Experience in healthcare, insurance, or third-party administrator (TPA) environments is strongly preferred. Technical Proficiency: Strong SQL skills; experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MSSQL, Azure SQL). Hands-on with ETL tools such as Boomi , Azure Data Factory , or Informatica . Experience with data platforms like Azure Data Lake , Snowflake , or similar. Proficient in Python , Java , or other scripting/programming languages. Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data ecosystems. Understanding of data modeling, architecture, and schema design. Exposure to big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) and BI tools (Power BI, Looker) is a plus. Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across teams. Detail-oriented, with a passion for clean, well-documented data.
