The Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains scalable data infrastructure and pipelines that power our data products, reports, and analytics tools. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality, reliable data flows throughout the organization, supporting both internal operations and external product features. Key responsibilities include improving data quality, implementing automated testing, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver trusted data to end users.
*This is a hybrid role with a combination of in office and remote.
What you will do:
Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple data sources and systems. Ensure data quality and consistency through validation frameworks, automated testing, and monitoring. Collaborate with clinical & operational process owners, data developers and other internal stakeholders to validate data requirements and implement efficient data solutions. Create and maintain well-documented, version-controlled data transformations and data models. Support the delivery of high-performance datasets for reporting, dashboards, machine learning models, and operational workflows. Optimize data storage and processing by designing scalable and cost-effective data architectures. Implement and enforce best practices in data governance, security, and access control. Collaborate with Business Intelligence and IT teams to manage data platform tooling (e.g., Power BI, SQL Server, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.). Conduct root cause analysis and debugging for data issues and partner with stakeholders to resolve anomalies. Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical design sessions as a data engineering subject matter expert. Qualifications: Strong experience with modern ETL/ELT frameworks and orchestration tools (e.g., dbt, SQLMesh). Direct Experience working with Electronic Medical Records systems (EMRs) and with implementing ETL in a Healthcare setting is strongly preferred. Robust Proficiency in SQL and one or more general-purpose programming languages (Python preferred). Hands-on experience with relational and columnar databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Redshift, SQL Server). Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and infrastructure-as-code. Demonstrated ability to write testable, maintainable, and well-documented data code. Experience working in an Agile or product-driven environment. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and domains. Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data product lifecycle. Compensation Range:
$135,000 to $160,000 Annually
All compensation ranges are posted based on internal equity, job requirements, experience, and geographical locations.
