Cybersecurity Engineer - Blue Team Operations

In this role, you will work collaboratively with our Red Team and Cybersecurity professionals to enhance our cyber readiness and strengthen system accreditation efforts. Note: This position is contingent upon the award of a contract, expected in December 2025. Clearance Requirements: An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position) is required. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, and US Citizenship is necessary to obtain a clearance. Key Responsibilities: Enhance security by performing system hardening on various Operating System platforms. Monitor and evaluate the security posture of systems and networks in accordance with DoD cybersecurity policies and tools. Utilize MITRE ATT&CK and/or MITRE D3FEND frameworks to enhance threat detection and response strategies. Conduct advanced threat intelligence analysis to identify emerging threats and provide actionable recommendations. Perform vulnerability assessments using tools such as the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS). Analyze vulnerability findings and craft comprehensive remediation plans. Implement vendor patches and configuration changes on Linux and Windows operating systems to address identified vulnerabilities. Design, implement, and enforce robust security controls across network, hardware, and software components. Preferred Skills and Experience: Candidates should possess at least 10 years of professional experience in the following: System hardening across multiple operating systems. Networking and virtualization technologies. Application of DoD cybersecurity policies and utilizing DoD security tools. Experience with MITRE ATT&CK or MITRE D3FEND frameworks. Conducting threat intelligence assessments and spotting potential emerging threats. Executing vulnerability assessments with ACAS. Remediating vulnerabilities, including patch implementation on Linux and Windows systems. Designing and enforcing security controls on various network and hardware components. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, along with one of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications: CASP+ CE CCNP Security CISA CISSP (Associate) CISSP GCED GCIH CCSP Compensation: The projected annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $160,000. This estimate reflects the standard salary range and is part of the comprehensive compensation package we offer.
