Location: Oak Ridge, TN Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer Career Level From: Senior Specialist Career Level To: Advisor Organization: Chief Information Security Off (50003144) Job Specialty: Cyber Security What You'll Do The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems and networks while safeguarding sensitive data and information from cyber-attacks. This position protects the organization from the evolving threats of the digital landscape and ensures secure operations. The Cybersecurity Engineer also plans and monitors security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data, and provides visibility on the latest risks and threats to information security systems. This position reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and collaborates with the Cyber Operations Manager, Formal Authorizations Manager, the Network Operations Center, and other stakeholders. Specific Job Requirements: Design, build, and maintain secure network architecture Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures Monitor and analyze security events and incidents Manage security technologies and tools Assess complex security challenges and devise solutions Evaluate and enhance detection, analysis, containment, and response architecture Develop threat detection methods and countermeasures Perform risk assessments and security controls implementation Stay updated on cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities Knowledge of network defense tactics and security standards like ISO 27001 and NIST Knowledge of cloud security and services Proficiency with security tools such as firewalls, IDS, antivirus, SIEM Coordinate security efforts with IT staff

Minimum Job Requirements Bachelor's in engineering/science/IT with ?7 years relevant experience Master's in engineering/science/IT with ?5 years relevant experience PhD with ?2 years relevant experience

Preferred Job Requirements * Bachelor's in Computer Science or Information Systems with >10 years experience and management roles.
