About the Role: As a Customer Application Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in serving our customers by identifying their needs and designing effective solutions for air cooler requirements. This hybrid position is based in Broken Arrow, OK, or Buffalo, NY, and you'll be providing direct support to customers with complex quotations while assisting the sales team with new opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Receive and review inquiries from potential and current customers, ensuring to understand relevant documents and specifications. Engage with customers and consultants in meetings to accurately grasp their drivers for proposals. Utilize Alfa Laval proprietary software, alongside industry-standard tools, to size and price air coolers based on customer specifications. Optimize designs leveraging your expertise in heat transfer and fluid dynamics. Compose detailed written proposals that describe coolers and address comments resulting from specification reviews. Ensure timely and competitive formulation of quotation documents, collaborating with internal stakeholders as necessary. Conduct proactive risk assessments and participate in Project Sales Plan (PSP) reviews if required. Review customer contracts and identify potential execution phase risks to mitigate them in the bid stage. Assist the sales team by responding to technical inquiries promptly. Utilize CRM tools consistently to support the sales process and inform decision-making. Work with customers to provide education and enhance their understanding of our products. Collaborate with managers and colleagues to identify improvements that can enhance sales efficiency and competitiveness. Engage in global support and interaction with sales entities. Drive the development of tools and templates for bids and improve the bidding process. Adhere to all safety policies and practices, promoting a culture of safety among colleagues and stakeholders. Conduct yourself in a professional and considerate manner towards employees, customers, vendors, and visitors. What You Need: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred. At least 3 years of experience in quotation preparation, project management, or as an application engineer. Strong understanding of fluids and heat transfer principles. 1 year of experience with heat exchangers or pressure vessels. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for regular interaction with coworkers and customers. Strong organizational capabilities for task prioritization. Familiarity with API, ASME, PED, and other pressure vessel codes is a plus. Experience with engineering calculation software and proficiency in MS Office Suite. A collaborative and solution-oriented mindset with a focus on clear communication. Why Join Us? The base salary for this position typically ranges from $90,000.00 to $112,000.00.
