ESS-240 Job Title: Lead Piping Field Engineer Telework Type: Full-Time Office/Project
Job Summary: In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.
Major Responsibilities: Monitors and directs subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractors' management staff within the area of responsibility. Role supports on large projects of high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement. Planning Reviews and monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements. Reviews and approves where necessary, subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements. Leads the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
Safety / Quality Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
Technical Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Experience with client direct hire craft preferred. Contract management experience. Understanding of applicable client work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred. Experience in mining and metals. Familiarity with client Standard Applications (BSAPs) including ACONEX, TEAMWorks, client Productivity System, PTR, eSub and other automation tools which are used on client projects is an asset. Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards. Excellent communication and problem solving ability.
