Job Details

We are looking to hire a Controls Engineer. The successful hire will have a strong knowledge in multiple Controls Platforms.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Design PLC based control systems, control panels and related power distribution for low voltage systems (typically 480 VAC and below). * Select and specify electrical components as required to support the finalized/as-sold control system architectures. * Develop electrical schematic diagrams and control panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical. * Work closely with control panel manufacturers to resolve manufacturing issues regarding building of control system panels. * Work closely with project team to insure the successful completion of project hardware designs. * Work independently with minimal oversight to meet project schedules. * Perform hardware testing activities in support of hardware/software integration activities, including development of project specific hardware test plans, when required. * Assist in the development of written project documentation such as system level hardware test specifications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with or exposure to most of the following through direct work experience and/or formal coursework:

* Use of AutoCAD Electrical & Microsoft Office products * Design of PLC-based control systems including AC & DC motor control and power distribution, fusing, etc. up to 480VAC * Control panel design basics and National Electrical Code NFPA 70 * Selection of multi-vendor PLC hardware, AC & DC Motor Drive Hardware and general control system components * Preparation of control system design documentation
