Controls Engineer
We are looking for a Controls Engineer that will be responsible for designing and troubleshooting all aspects of plant automation. This position is accountable for the continuous development of electrical equipment, controls, automation, components and systems as assigned.
Accountabilities:
• Maintain PLC, PanelView, Robots and Servo drive controls, program upgrades and back-ups.
• Prepare and maintain all required documentation on equipment (PLC, PanelView, Robots and Servo drives).
• Prepare and update electrical drawings on AutoCAD.
• Assist with PLC and Electronics training requirements for employees and deliver required training.
• Interact with Production, Maintenance, Quality and Engineering department personnel.
• Lead and advise to co-workers and help maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Best Practices and Job Safe Practices to ensure the transfer of knowledge to others.
• Assist with continual improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Assist with planning and implementation of changes to machinery and equipment.
• Provide PLC controls and programming knowledge and skills to support all aspects of operations.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the HSE Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
• Ensure QMS conforms to the requirements identified in IATF 16949 and AMTB Process Map.
• Fulfill all responsibilities as identified in the Employee Handbook.
Skills, Requirements, and Personal Traits:
• Education: Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree is a plus
• 3+ years working within the manufacturing industry (automotive preferred)
• Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Advanced AutoCAD & Solid Works CAD software experience is a plus
• Electronics/electrical troubleshooting abilities required
• Experience in PLC’s and troubleshooting & diagnostics (ie. Siemens and Allen Bradley)
• Proven ability to achieve results
• Proactive in learning and development activities
• Proven ability to work with and develop people
