ISSI seeks a highly motivated individual for a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) position on our high-speed systems research and development team in Dayton, OH. Our team is responsible for developing and testing high speed combustors and their sub-components at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH. This is a full-time position.

*Role and Responsibilities:*

As a CFD Application Engineer for ISSI, you will:

· Perform validation engineering tasks including setting up simulation cases, managing runs and output data, processing and analyzing results, writing up analyses, and preparing presentations about the results and work performed

· Contribute to the development of simulation-based solutions that solve practical problems

· Work closely with other members of our computational propulsion team

· Interact with experimental and design teams to develop and test new/exciting designs

· Be a member of a cohesive and highly collaborative group with a clear mission to develop novel ideas

*Requirements:*

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

· MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

· 2-5 years of academic and/or industry experience using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

· Strong background in fluid mechanics and CFD of compressible flows (reacting flow background desired)

· Strong knowledge in combustion and turbulence modeling

· Experience with RANS or hybrid RANS-LES methods

· Experience with CFD grid-generation

· Expertise in commercial solvers (CFD++, FLUENT, etc.) and programming languages used for high-performance computing (Python, C + +, C, Fortran, etc.)

· Familiarity with Linux in a high-performance computing environment

· Self-starter, motivated, strong work ethic, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

· Strong communication skills

· Excellent problem-solving skills, well organized

· Ability to apply talents cooperatively as part of a team of professionals

· U.S. citizenship required

· Holds or can obtain Secret clearance

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
