What you will do
Ensure engineering controls are in place to enable safe facility and compression station operations and compliance with applicable permits and regulations.
Identify causes for facility downtime/upsets and evaluate remediation - Regular surveillance of facilities and compression stations - Identify issues, assess root causes, and formulate plans to address root causes. - Participate in or lead incident investigations Identify causes of facility flaring/venting and evaluate remediation.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with Operations stakeholders.
Liaison with regulatory and compliance teams
Steward facilities, compression station, and dehydration unit modifications - Document proposed changes and stakeholder engagement via Management of Change process - Evaluate and address risks associated with process changes (Risk Asssessments, HAZOPs, Facilities Integrity workshop, etc.) - Maintain updated facility critical drawings and documents (P&IDs, C&Es etc). Steward facilities, compression station, and dehydration unit modifications
Project management of facility upgrade projects
Identify opportunities to optimize compression station operation, de-bottleneck, and reduce operating expenditures.
Develop and justify capital spend to support proposed facility upgrades.
Define project scope, budget, procurement plan, risk management and accountability of spend on projects
Execute project from FEED to Operations handover.
Development of tools to track and report key facility metrics.
Build/review compressor and station simulations to maximize efficiency and throughput
Maintain an understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, best practices, technologies and technical tools and incorporate into facility designs.
About You
Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in an Oil and Gas engineering role with a focus on surface facilities, rotating equipment, or upstream unconventional.
Demonstrated experience in managing and executing projects
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Proficient in Hysys or related software with ability to model design modifications and pressure drops.
Ability to understand/redline P&ID drawings.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
