Responsibilities The Commissioning Engineer team performs final testing, startup, and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, switchgear, relays, and motor control centers, both in the field and manufacturing environments. An understanding of complex electrical distribution systems and sophisticated test equipment is required. You will contribute to a safe working environment and project success. Local, regional, and national travel may be required. Assist experienced specialists in coordinating and reviewing electrical deliverables Prepare and review electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets Perform routine electrical calculations Review supplier documentation for compliance with specifications Utilize department guides and standards via the electrical engineering website Understand basic electrical inspection, testing, and commissioning of components and systems Apply basic electrical engineering theories Familiarity with power systems, switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, power panels, relays, UPS, and test equipment Proficient in technical writing Understand advanced mathematics Awareness of industry codes and standards Good communication skills Willing to travel to customer sites periodically Qualifications Minimum 10+ years relevant electrical experience with a high school diploma or GED, or 8+ years with an associate or bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of experience Valid/active U.S. Work Authorization Candidate Expectations: Experience with electronics installation and maintenance Ability to interpret trade drawings and identify potential issues Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA ATS/MTS, NEC, NFPA 70E Desired / Advantageous Qualifications OEM certified field service training NETA Level III or IV certification preferred Benefits include: Competitive salary Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement 401k plan Military Reserve pay offset Paid maternity leave Abilities Ability to work with computer screens for extended periods Sitting and reaching for extended periods Finger dexterity for manipulating objects and using a keyboard Effective listening and understanding spoken information Clear communication skills Reading and understanding written information Applying rules to solve specific problems Understanding speech of others Pay Range USD $39.45 - USD $63.11 per hour
