As an Equipment Engineer at Micron Technology in Manassas, VA (MTV), you will maintain 300mm equipment in a high-tech manufacturing line. Typical duties include hands-on maintenance of equipment, applying available automation systems to achieve high volume manufacturing, supporting new tool installations, optimizing process and tool operating conditions, minimizing human and machine induced errors, implementing statistical process control systems, and innovating other engineering solutions to eliminate risk and improve sensitivity of measurements.
You will work with other engineering areas to resolve various integration and defect related issues, lead actions outside areas of direct responsibility as required to resolve broader issues, lead interaction with vendor groups to drive support, improvement and demonstration activities, and develop process and procedural improvements, as well as provide detailed documentation and training to shift personnel as required. You will also find opportunities for efficiency improvements and equipment optimization to improve product quality and reduce system cost of ownership. OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
Tactical:
Effectively drives the standards with respect to critical metrics
Is accountable for the decisions and performance
Effectively manages daily business to meet production and quality requirements
Upon completion of a difficult or out of the ordinary task, ensures that proper communication on related lessons learned is complete.
Visible in key problem resolution efforts and provides guidance to resolve equipment issues effectively and timely.
Champions beneficial projects and quality team efforts in area and outside area
Manages direction to change, sustain or cancel projects as required to meet area/Fab objectives
Communicate with the Equipment Lead daily about priorities, issues and time management.
Monitor required programs and verify workstation notes and data are logged ( MPD, SPC, ETI, FDC, ECN’s)
Strategic:
Effectively plans for required capacity and product mix adjustments, ensure equipment is capable of running as much variance as possible.
Develop, implement and update reaction mechanism procedures with BKM’s
Review and document LTD issues to ensure root cause is found and follow-up is documented and communicated to the group and across sister sites.
Follow up on and implement fixes for issues that cause scrap or product deviation.
Seeks to understand difficult situations before making critical strategic decisions
Uses available resources and systems (such as KT) in the way we make decisions
Works with Vendors to determine/plan and complete CIP items for tool/product/through-put improvement.
Establish and implement prevention measures for reoccurring issues.
Review and update maintenance procedures to ensure equipment is maintained with quality, efficiency and in a cost effective manner.

Mentor shift equipment team in developing benchmark culture
Provides active leadership to drive group to higher levels of proficiency
Actively leads and participates in quality teams to achieve benchmark performance
Provides training and guidance to shift equipment team to enhance troubleshooting and repair performance
Support cleanroom protocol and area organization
External engagement
Benchmarking:
Gather and apply benchmarking data to perform Gap analysis to identify delta to benchmark
Formulate strategy and action plans with timeline and goals to close and/or exceed the gap
Promote alignment between departments and also between sites
Actively engage and promote copy smart teams as a mean to maintain alignment and knowledge/BKM sharing
Use industry publications, technical papers; engage in creative thinking / brainstorming to look for opportunities to gain competitiveness
Leadership:

Follow all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
