This first shift position is based in Beverly, MA; NOT budgeted for sponsorship or relocation.
We are looking for a skilled Quality Engineer with proven experience programming CMM and managing/designing ISO 9001.
SUMMARY
The Quality Engineer will utilize their technical expertise and quality assurance knowledge to drive continuous improvement within a collaborative team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Work alongside department managers to provide support for quality-related challenges, conduct root cause analyses, and implement effective solutions.
Represent the Quality department in cross-functional collaborations with manufacturing engineers and production teams to uphold quality standards and best practices.
Create and manage CMM programs, ensuring they operate correctly, generate accurate reports, and mentor the Quality Technician in program operation.
Address noncompliance and nonconformance issues by writing reports, performing root cause analyses, and proposing corrective actions to department heads.
Manage customer complaints by documenting issues, ensuring customer needs are met, and collaborating with the Sales and Service teams for equipment returns or replacements.
Develop inspection plans for incoming materials in collaboration with Quality Technicians and Manufacturing Engineers.
Stay updated on new inspection technologies and methodologies, suggesting process improvements.
Oversee supplier quality management and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through corrective action measures.
Support the calibration process, run reports, prepare items for calibration, and maintain accurate calibration records.
Schedule and participate in internal and third-party audits, including PED/ATEX/3A and ISO 9001, ensuring follow-through on corrective actions.
QUALIFICATIONS: To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering.
Demonstrated proficiency with inspection techniques, particularly CMM programming, preferably with Zeiss.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 standard design and management.
Strong communication skills with a capability to educate others.
Expertise in process improvement methodologies.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, along with knowledge of PED/ATEX/3A compliance.
