Cloud Platform Engineer The Opportunity:
You will be the technical owner of our entire Amazon Web Services footprint, turning infrastructure‑as‑code into a secure, highly available platform that delivers our Progressive Web App (PWA) to DoD customers worldwide. Your day‑to‑day ranges from designing Virtual Private Cloud networks and CloudFront edge policies to writing service-worker code that keeps the app lightning‑fast offline, so every commit you ship has an immediate, mission‑critical impact.
You’ll automate everything—golden‑image pipelines, Terraform deployments, CI/CD scans, and patching—so our engineers can focus on features while you ensure we meet FedRAMP and DoD Cloud Computing SRG requirements without breaking a sweat. As the resident cloud architect, you’ll guide decisions on encryption strategy, logging, and cost optimization, mentoring junior developers and presenting elegant diagrams to security auditors alike. Because we’re still small, you’ll also get the creative freedom to prototype new ideas—whether that’s containerizing our API, adding WebAssembly to the PWA, or piloting an Impact‑Level‑4 deployment—and see them go live in production within days.
If you thrive on end‑to‑end ownership, love switching between infrastructure puzzles and modern JavaScript, and want your code to support real‑world missions, this role will feel like a playground.
Join us. The world can’t wait.
You Have:
3+ years of experience with Web development and Amazon Web Services
1+ years of experience writing Infrastructure‑as‑Code and developing modern JavaScript applications, such as React, Vue, or Angular
Experience in automating security controls and compliance checkpoints
Experience setting up and maintaining Continuous‑Integration or Continuous‑Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodeBuild or CodePipeline
Experience scripting in Python, TypeScript, or Bash for automation tasks and tooling
Knowledge of networking fundamentals
Ability to build and secure Linux‑based systems
Ability to explain complex cloud and security concepts to developers, stakeholders, and auditors
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree in a CS field
Nice If You Have:
Experience designing, deploying, and operating production workloads, including CloudFront, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, VPC, IAM, and KMS
Experience with Terraform or AWS Cloud Development Kit, including modules, state management, and CI/CD integration, and with developing and maintaining web-based server applications and implementing algorithms that interface with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
Experience delivering at least one PWA that uses service-worker caching and offline storage
Experience with hardening, patch automation, and log aggregation with CloudWatch or a comparable observability stack
Experience with VPC design, subnet isolation, security‑group and Network‑Access‑Control‑List configuration, and TLS certificate management via AWS Certificate Manager
Experience using AWS Config, GuardDuty, or equivalent services
Experience with static analysis, dependency scanning, and container image scanning
Ability to design, develop, and implement data processing workflows
Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
CompTIA Security+ Certification and Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) Certification
