This position is responsible for the coordination, implementation, on-time execution, and quality assurance/quality control of civil designs for the renewable energy industry and general civil work on assigned projects. This job position reports to the Civil Engineering Director. The position requires a qualified individual to conduct the full civil design of wind, solar and general civil projects including site planning, access road layout, transportation design, roadway alignment design, hydrology, hydraulics, fencing layout, crane path layout, drainage, grading, permitting support, and construction support. The position requires proven ability to interface with clients, coordinate with other internal staff and disciplines, and a commitment to QA/QC, safety, and on-time deliverables.
Essential Responsibilities Discuss civil project requirements with the client while delivering value engineering Analyze survey, mapping, and materials-testing data to complete work assignments using computer modelling software Create and review civil drawings Assess the environmental impact and risk connected to projects Civil bid proposal support Manage multiple civil projects Ensure sites meet legal guidelines and health and safety requirements Deliver civil engineering designs and optimization in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and industry practices Day-to-day management of assigned projects­ Plan, define project tasks, schedule, and deliver on-time execution of civil scope of work and project deliverables Work closely with the RRC Project Managers and Civil Engineering Group Manager in the successful execution of work Be responsive to the needs of the client and project requirements 10% travel is expected and can include overnight stays for several days Jobsite visits require ability to traverse uneven or rough terrain, including bending, stooping, twisting, and climbing Sitting is involved for most of the day while in the office but a raised desk workstation is available Minimal lifting requirement of 20 pounds or less on an infrequent basis

RRC offers competitive salaries and benefits for full-time employees, including: Flexible work hours to accommodate work-life balance Health, dental, and vision insurance 401k matching Bonus eligibility Tuition reimbursement for certain pre-approved education pursuits The Profile Job Requirements Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas and ability to obtain NCEES records within 6 months of employment 4 to 8 years of strong experience in civil engineering design with consulting Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred Experience in renewable energy projects is a plus Knowledge of hydrological methods: Rational method, Small Watershed Method, SCS Hydrological Soils (NRCS) Knowledge of commonly used software for civil engineering including: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, HY-8, etc. Proficient with office software including MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam, Adobe, etc.
