This career opportunity is located in Sioux Falls, SD. Municipal/Water Distribution Engineer will be directly responsible for planning and designing municipal and/or rural water projects, water collection and distribution systems, water treatment systems and wastewater treatment systems. The Engineer will be further responsible for preparing technical reports, plans and specifications for infrastructure improvement projects. Candidates will analyze existing infrastructure systems and perform problem solving using practical creative thinking skills to assess system modifications needs and/or to provide repair recommendations as needed. Conceptual and preliminary design activities will include site visits, fieldwork, alternate analysis, and report preparation. Successful performance in this position will require collaboration with several entities such as funding and regulatory agencies, and equipment suppliers. Innovative and creative designs shall be implemented into detailed plans and specifications. Coordination with construction focused staff shall also be performed to ensure adherence to contract requirements. Engineer is expected to maintain a high level of professional service to the Company's clients in an accurate and timely manner.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and work well in a team environment. Applicants must have at least 5 years of directly relevant experience in municipal related projects (10 years preferred) and be a Registered Professional Engineer or be able to obtain licensure in South Dakota within one year.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,295.48 - $90,000.00 per year
