Opening for a Civil Engineer in the Jackson, FL region for a role focused on Land Development projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to residential, commercial, and municipal projects while mentoring junior staff and taking a hands-on approach to engineering design and project delivery.
In this role you will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering calculations, construction plans, and reports, with a strong focus on site grading, stormwater management, and utility design.
Essential Functions
Mentor and develop junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
Prepare engineering design calculations and create construction plans to support land development projects.
Design and oversee site grading, stormwater management systems, utility layouts, and project details.
Write comprehensive drainage and utility reports to support project goals and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and project teams to ensure compliance with Florida permitting processes and local regulations.
Provide technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
6+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development.
Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
Extensive experience with Florida land development permitting processes.
Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write detailed reports and effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
