Job Description:
This positions primary focus will be on engineering standards, management of state transportation assets, and the efficient delivery of the capital program. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this role oversees the Bureau of Project Development, the Safety and Mobility Office, and a new Asset Management Office, consisting of asset management personnel. Responsibilities include overseeing safety initiatives, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of quality capital projects, and developing engineering standards, specifications, and policies. The position also aims to enhance coordination between safety and traffic engineering. It is part of a 4-person executive team and reports directly to the Commissioner of Transportation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed Maine Professional Engineer, 15 years of professional engineering experience in transportation, and progressive management experience. Candidates must provide evidence of these qualifications.
