About the Role
The Company is in need of a Chief Cloud Engineer to spearhead Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure projects for government clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and optimizing Kubernetes clusters, managing cloud platforms with a strong emphasis on automation and DoD compliance, leading security assessments, and implementing remediation strategies. This role also requires collaboration on incident response, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and serving as the primary in-person company representative for client engagements in Florida. The ideal candidate should have a deep background in secure, compliant Kubernetes environments and cloud deployments, particularly in DoD settings, and must be both an architect and an engineer, capable of designing and leading the development of cloud and Kubernetes architectures.
Applicants for the Chief Cloud Engineer position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with at least 15 years of engineering experience, and a minimum of 5 years in cloud and Kubernetes roles within defense or government programs. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, as well as scripting in Python and Bash, is essential. The role requires a candidate with a strong technical background, including certifications such as CKA, AWS, or Azure, and the ability to manage secure, compliant cloud and Kubernetes environments. The Chief Cloud Engineer will also be expected to have excellent communication skills, as they will serve as the senior point of contact for client communications and events in Florida.
