Organization Gas Services Business Unit Central Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Mid-level Professional Siemens Energy is looking for a Ceramic Core Process Engineer (Materials) who develops and continuously improves core injection manufacturing processes! Troubleshoot process problems and provide technical support to manufacturing to ensure timely delivery of conforming core products to downstream processes. Engages with process & product engineers within the core technical team as well as the casting team!
How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
Applies process knowledge, basic engineering principles, previous experience, and creativity as vital to develop processes and parameters that result in the production of core material that meets internal requirements and cores that meet customer specifications
Reviews requirements and develops processes and documentation to achieve them
Establishes, maintains, and presents statistical process control in assigned areas
Monitors yield and throughput in assigned areas, collaborating with process and product colleagues as well as other departments to tackle challenges
Collaborates with appropriate teams to implement improvements (efficiency, safety, yield) and with training team to develop efficient and effective training content
Provides technical direction to the team on equipment and processes in assigned areas
What You Bring (requirements)
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Materials Science is required
Minimum 3 years experience in ceramic manufacturing, (investment casting preferred)
Experience in ceramic core manufacturing for investment casting, with knowledge of thermal processing as an advantage; ability to develop detailed work instructions and provide training is required.
Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical procedures, customer specifications, and regulatory documents, with experience in writing reports, manuals, and business correspondence for multifaceted audiences.
Proficient in probability, statistical inference, and practical applications of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, enabling accurate data analysis and problem-solving.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with the skills vital to handling technical documentation and presentations optimally.
