The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Business Supply Chain (BSC) Engineer , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Maintaining awareness of customer needs and industry trends and translate those into measurable specifications and test methods for product development and manufacturing.
Supporting successful NPI scale up and launch of new products with capacity, capability, and cost.
Using Lean, Six Sigma and Value stream tools to drive improvements.
Performing capability assessments and cost estimates for new opportunities.
Driving process development, recommend new equipment and modification to support cost improvements and new product introductions.
Providing manufacturing technical support for local and global manufacturing of the businesses products by driving critical to business cost, product yield, and customer quality projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Three (3) years of combined experience in manufacturing, product or process development in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Technical experience in polymer film extrusion, web handling, microreplication, clean coating, lamination, slitting, rotary die converting, and/or punch press converting
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Three (3) years or more of experience utilizing statistical tools in problem solving is preferred
Three (3) years or more of experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Three (3) years or more of experience working on New Product Development and Commercialization teams is preferred
Two - Three years' experience working in Health Care product manufacturing, product development or application engineering
Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job duties allow for some remote work but require travel to 3M Center, MN at least 3 days per week)
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
