Bitcoin IT Engineer - On-Site Role with Growth Path (West Texas)

Full-Time Growth Opportunity to Lead IT

We're a fast-growing industrial operation in West Texas seeking a hands-on, resourceful IT Engineer to join our core team. This is a high-impact role at a facility with robust infrastructure, custom systems, and plenty of room for growth. We need someone with a strong technical foundation and leadership potential to eventually take charge of IT operations and guide a small on-site team.

Tasks: Set up, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure (MikroTik, Cisco, TP-Link, D-Link switches & routers). Work directly with Linux-based systems and handle scripting, diagnostics, and automation. Manage a wide range of devices including SBCs (like Raspberry Pi), IP cameras, and monitoring hardware. Support in-house software and IT processes, assist with system uptime, and maintain network health. Mentor and guide 6-8 junior team members, and eventually help recruit and train new IT staff. Be proactive in resolving technical issues - act as a system owner, not just a technician. Collaborate with on-site electricians and automation engineers to support container-level PLCs, control panels, and environmental sensors. Monitor and troubleshoot issues with sensor readouts, flow rates, temperature, pressure, and other environmental data points. Assist in maintaining or integrating PLC-based logic for fan control, immersion pump operation, or environmental failsafes. Support and improve data logging systems and real-time alerts using scripts or monitoring software.

Requirements: Strong Linux/Bash scripting skills, and are comfortable around hardware and networks. Familiarity with Layer 2/3 switching, DHCP, VLANs, static IP setups, and general IT security. Ability to see the bigger picture and is ready to step into a leadership role. Ability to troubleshoot and optimize in a live, always-on environment. Self-driven, organized, and take pride in doing things the right way.Experience with basic PLC systems (Wago, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar) is a big plus. You understand how IT interacts with control systems, sensors, and industrial automation. Comfortable working with Modbus (RTU and TCP), serial interfaces, or sensor data pipelines. Experience with Bitcoin ASIC mining environments (Antminer, WhatsMiner, immersion/hydro setups) Familiarity with containerized mining layouts or custom control systems Understanding of hashrate monitoring, miner diagnostics, or firmware flashing tools Bonus if you've built or supported SCADA, Grafana dashboards, or remote monitoring tools.

Compensation

$43-$58/hour ($90K-$120K annually), depending on experience and leadership potential.
