Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and strategic Backend Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be a key player in designing and building the robust, scalable backend services that power our innovative AI-native agent workspace. You will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into high-performance, secure, and maintainable systems. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer who is passionate about architecting cloud-native solutions and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.
What You'll Do:
Collaborate with tech, product, and operations teams to define the right problems to solve and how to solve them.
Design and implement scalable backend systems using modern tools and patterns.
Architect cloud-native solutions using AWS, with a preference for serverless approaches.
Support DevOps efforts including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and performance optimization.
Contribute to system design reviews, RFCs, and long-term architectural decisions for the backend platform.
Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the team for backend development.
Who you are: 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time building end-to-end systems with a strong focus on backend development.
Fluency in Python (Java/Spring or Go is a plus.
Strong understanding of AWS and cloud-native design (e.g., ECS, Lambda, Dynamo).
Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and data models.
Proven ability to design and optimize systems for performance.
Excellent technical judgment and the ability to work through ambiguity with minimal direction.
Insurance or enterprise SaaS experience is a plus
