Quality Engineer Supplier I & Engineering-II
Major and well-established international company is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer I or Supplier Quality Engineer II for their large manufacturing facility located to the east of Atlanta, GA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Lead changes in Supplier SREA, review Supplier PPAP documentation, and analyze supplier performance to ensure quality requirements are met.
Develop and implement strategies for training Supplier Quality Assurance and Inspections on new and existing testing equipment.
Improve receiving inspection process for supplier components.
Develop and maintain inspection standards for auditing raw materials and products at different stages.
Coordinate auditing and documentation of raw materials and products at various manufacturing stages.
Lead projects to improve quality processes, products, and components in response to internal/external findings or customer complaints.
Participate in Kaizen activities to address supplier concerns related to processes, equipment, and parts.
Perform annual CQI assessments for internal Special Processes to meet Customer Specific Requirements.
Document inspection data and maintain database for quality related issues.
Oversee product sorting function and manage return of defective parts.
Implement full layout inspections for raw materials from suppliers and CpK for special characteristics. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in engineering with 1 year experience for Engineer-I and 3 years experience for Engineer-II.
Proficiency in ATS, SPC, FMEA, and knowledge of measuring equipment.
Customer-service oriented with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with leadership abilities.
Proven technical skills in Quality Control (Capability Studies, APQP, PPAP).
Experience reading blueprints and measuring parts.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Proficiency in MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, and willingness to travel up to 10% overnight. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for directing and supervising employees.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typical office setting with moderate noise level. Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas requiring personal protective equipment.
