Job Details
We’re looking for an Automation SCADA Engineer to support the design, development, and commissioning of robust SCADA systems for large-scale critical infrastructure projects—including hyperscale and colocation data centers (10MW–200MW+). You’ll work alongside a senior-level engineer to help turn complex PLC data into intuitive dashboards and automated reporting tools that keep 24/7 operations running smoothly.
* This is a high-impact role supporting essential infrastructure—ideal for someone who thrives in technical environments and enjoys building systems that never sleep. * Must be able to travel up to 50% across the U.S. (some international travel possible)
________________________________________ What You’ll Do SCADA Design & Development (60%)
* Build Ignition-based HMI projects (Perspective/Vision), templates, and UDTs * Develop Python/SQL scripts and set up alarming and historian systems * Configure redundancy, store-and-forward, and MQTT pipelines
Integration & Commissioning (20%)
* Set up device communication using BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, MQTT * Support FAT, SAT, and integrated system testing * Troubleshoot network, historian, and security issues on site
Standards & Process Improvement (10%)
* Help improve project templates, cybersecurity practices, and QA checklists
Team Collaboration & Reporting (10%)
* Work closely with PLC, networking, and commissioning teams * Create weekly progress updates and system performance dashboards
________________________________________ Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field * 4+ years of hands-on SCADA experience in critical infrastructure or industrial automation * Ignition 8.1 Gold Certification required

* Strong experience developing SCADA systems using Ignition (8.1+) * Proficient in Python scripting, UDTs, and SQL queries * Knowledge of major industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, MQTT) * Comfortable working with source control (Git), Jira or Azure DevOps * Familiar with basic server administration (Windows/Linux) * Excellent communicator—calm under pressure, clear in fast-paced environments * Familiar with IT networks: VLANs, VPNs, LANs, and RSTP * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills * Able to work independently in a remote setup with minimal supervision * Ability to travel up to 50% across the U.S. (some international travel possible) * Must be eligible for OSHA/NFPA70E certification if needed
