Associate Software Engineer I

Join our dynamic Provider Applications team at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee as an Associate Software Engineer I. In this role, you’ll assist in analyzing, developing, testing, and implementing various application systems using SQL and .Net.
Required Skills:
Experience with SQL server or other relational database is required.
Experience with C#, .net, JavaScript, CSS is required.
Preferred Skills:
Web development exp. in Asp.net, MVC is preferred.
Experience with Agile methodologies/ceremonies preferred.
Note:
Sponsorship is not available for this role.
On call rotation will be needed one week per two months.
Job Responsibilities
Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate information systems
Devises or modifies application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including capacity, operating time, response time, and form of desired results.
Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts.
Maintains technical skill set for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities and networks needed to support workassignments.
Responds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems.
May conduct presentations to provide end users with knowledge to maximize their use of developed systems.
Job Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of technical experience for every year of college requested.
