Associate Project Engineer ( Rick Engineering Company, Inc., An AZ Corporation DBA Rick Engineering Company, Inc.; Tucson, Arizona): Assist in the successful operation of the design team by coordinating interactions with clients, other departments/teams, and sub-consultants for all project-related activity including construction/survey coordination. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget by making effective engineering decisions, solving difficult problems that arise during the course of the project, and by implementing the professional liability guidelines. Assist Associates and Principals by estimating time requirements and budgets within the established corporate standards; effectively manage contracts, monthly billing statements, and ongoing account management including collection-related duties. Ensure quality control is maintained by following company procedures as outlined in the Quality Control Manual. Assist Associates and Principals by representing the company before governmental agencies including the Planning Commission, City Council & Board of Supervisors. Effectively manage and train a team of designers and drafters through motivation, leading by example, delegating tasks, facilitating the interview process, completing accurate and thorough performance reviews on time, and executing disciplinary actions including terminations.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field, plus two (2) years of work experience in the position offered, as a Civil Engineer, or related occupation.
OR Alternate Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field, plus four (4) years of work experience in the position offered, as a Civil Engineer, or related occupation.
Must have a valid Arizona Professional Civil Engineer License.
Must have experience with the following:
One (1) year of project management;
Land development or water resources design;
Preparing preliminary and final drainage study designs and reports;
Retention and detention basin calculation and design;
Hydraulic modeling;
Floodplain mapping studies;
FEMA flood mapping revision (including CLOMR (Conditional Letter of Map Revision), LOMR (Letter of Map Revision), and LOMC (Letter of Map Change) processes);
Drainage Master Plan preparation;
Commercial rainwater harvesting requirements, first flush requirements, and LID (Low Impact Development) design principles;
Civil3D/AutoCAD computer-aided design software;
Hydraulic design software including HEC-RAS (HEC-2), HEC-HMS (HEC-1), Flo-2D, StormCAD, PondPack, and Hydraflow Express.
Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.
