Vacatia is looking for a skilled and motivated Assistant Chief Engineer to help lead our engineering and maintenance efforts at our beautiful resort property The Grandview in Las Vegas. As our Assistant Chief Engineer , youll be the right hand to the Chief Engineerstepping in during days off or vacations and playing a pivotal role in keeping our resort safe, functional, and looking its best. Youll oversee day-to-day maintenance, coach a skilled team, and uphold the highest standards of service, safety, and operational efficiency.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Chief Engineer in leading the Maintenance Department and ensuring smooth operations across all resort systems: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, elevators, and structural.
Performing and overseeing property repairs, maintenance, and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Helping manage and train team members in safety, maintenance protocols, and exceptional guest service.
Conducting regular property inspections and ensuring OSHA and ADA compliance.
Monitoring work quality and completion timelines, ensuring company standards are consistently met or exceeded.
Participating in scheduling, inventory control, and supervising vendor/contractor work.
Ensuring timely turnaround for guest unit repairs and maintenance requests.
Taking the lead during emergencies or as part of the on-call schedule.
What Were Looking For:
Were seeking someone who is hands-on, reliable, and a natural leader someone who thrives in a fast-paced resort environment and is ready to take their career to the next level.
You should have:
4-5 years experience in general maintenance or engineering (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, etc.).
Strong knowledge of safety standards, including OSHA and ADA compliance
2-3 years experience supervising or mentoring maintenance staff
Solid communication and time management skills
A team-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently
Physical ability to perform manual tasks, move equipment, and respond to emergencies
Availability for on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
