ABOUT THIS POSITION We are looking for an outstanding, brilliant, and driven Application Engineer to join our growing Advanced R & D team. In this mission-critical role, the Application Engineer will design, build, and implement web applications and back-end services for our internal customers. They will also have the opportunity to work with cloud-based components and generative AI services on the Google platform. WHAT YOU'LL DO Design, develop, test, and implement improvements or new features in our core code deployment tools and supporting applications based on functional and technical specifications.
Design, develop, test, and implement new features using the Google Cloud Platform.
Design, develop, test, and implement new services that interact with various generative AI models hosted on Google Cloud and on-premises.
Adhere to coding standards and approved technologies.
Unit test all changes in development and collaborate with Business and/or Technology Owners to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
Communicate development progress daily to senior team members.
Attend to assigned work items promptly through the internal case system.
Take ownership of work items, communicate estimates and progress, and actively resolve issues blocking progress.
Assist in the QA process.
Participate in production deployment, providing instructions and support for code releases and post-release smoke testing.
Maintain open communication with management.
Foster positive relationships with team members.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED 1-3 years of proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying code.
1 year of cloud technology experience, GCP preferred.
Proficiency in C# and .NET framework, Python, JavaScript.
Experience with relational databases (SQL Server / PostgreSQL).
Experience with version control (GIT).
Some exposure to generative AI development.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies preferred.
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
**Preferred Skills:** Experience with front-end web development.
Experience with containers and cloud technology, GCP preferred.
Development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
