The Garrett Group is seeking an experienced Antenna/RF/Signals Engineer to support the Joint Center for Electromagnetic Readiness (JCER) . This role is critical in conducting routine assessments of service deployment certification events and prerequisite training in support of Combatant Commands (CCMDs) . The engineer will play a key role in evaluating venues, units, and operations against standards such as Universal Joint Tasks (UJTs) and the EMOE Characterization Framework .
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement antenna system collection plans for JCER evaluations of Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO)
Conduct technical assessments and readiness certifications with a focus on electromagnetic spectrum performance and system survivability .
Apply deep technical understanding of electromagnetic (EM) energy transmission through space and materials to support JCER assessments.
Analyze and evaluate system-level EM vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies based on aircraft survivability principles .
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and refine EM performance test plans and evaluation strategies.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in applied electromagnetics , particularly in assessing EM energy behavior in operational environments or materials.
Familiarity with aircraft survivability concepts or comparable military system survivability assessments.
Proficiency in creating and executing detailed test plans for antenna and RF system performance evaluations.
Strong background in EM propagation, reflection, absorption , and energy interaction with different media and system structures.
Experience with technical programming languages (e.g., C++, MATLAB, Python ) for modeling, analysis, or simulation.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering , Physics , or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited
Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
NOTE: Please ensure your resume incorporates experience applying electromagnetics and/or aircraft survivability, or comprehensive understanding of EM energy transmission through space and within material.
Desired Experience:
Expertise in test plan development to evaluate modulation schemes for diverse wireless communication systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and advise on RF/Antenna system performance , including baseband algorithm and signal integrity analysis.
Experience providing recommendations to cross-functional teams for addressing wireless system issues and improving EM resilience.
